TECHNIC Employment Service Centre: 40 Years of Experience

To ensure the quality of domestic helpers, TECHNIC Employment has set up training centres overseas to provide professional training for maids before they come to Hong Kong. It also assigns dedicated staff to be stationed in the Philippines on a long-term basis to conduct interviews and select qualified helpers with years of relevant practical experience.

- Good educational background
- Domestic helper work experience

Recruitment and Interview of Filipino Domestic Helpers
According to the person in charge, the recruitment of Filipino domestic helpers is carried out by dedicated staff stationed in the Philippines, who conduct interviews and make selections. They regularly visit inland provinces in person to hold large-scale recruitment activities, which allows them to be closer to the applicants' family backgrounds and learn about their origins and personal character as a preliminary screening. They will then assess the applicants in various aspects, such as their appearance, education and work experience.
During the interview, the applicants' performance and attitude are also important factors in admission decisions. Successful applicants will be arranged by TECHNIC Employment Service Centre to have photographs taken and to produce self-introduction videos, which are sent to Hong Kong for employers to choose from.
Hong Kong-style Domestic Service Training from TECHNIC
Once an applicant is successfully admitted, she will move in and then receive Hong Kong-style domestic service training lasting from two weeks to four months. All courses are designed by TECHNIC Employment itself; the reason is that this allows the quality of domestic helpers to be unified under supervision while maintaining a consistent standard. Before helpers start work in Hong Kong, they will already possess professional domestic service knowledge, so employers do not need to spend too much time teaching them.
